    To help E.T.S.O to set up a language training activity through the launching of a pilot activity in professional English language To ensure the continuity

    3 different level groups made 2 evening groups elementary group 7.00 to 9.00 pm (7 people) Pre Intermediate group (8 people) 1 weekend group Intermediate group 9.00 am to 1.00 pm (12 people)

    The launching of language training at E.T.S.O as a regular long term activity The positioning of E.T.S.O as the first regional CCI in Turkey doing language training The transfer of the complete methodology to set up a training activity in many fields

    Economic exchanges increase everyday between Turkey and European countries All cities of theThrace region are concerned because of their geographic position (main passage way for international transports through Europe)

    Local CCI have to support their members in the improvement of international skills ( efficency) Necessity for Thracian companies to speak foreign languages and first of all English in a professional environment

    2 Directions: To do a transfer of know how in business English courses from ETSO to Corlů TSO To set up 2 new English courses at ETSO for new publics ( beginners/ false beginners) + a conversation class (intermediate people).

    Corlů expressed its willness to participate in the project. Corlů is located in a region where industrialisation develops rapidly + it has a free zone ( many contacts for import and export) Potential market of 1000 students

    Corlů and Edirne are located at only 100 Km and they are linked by a motorway To reinforce the existing good cooperation between Edirne and Corlů

    From December 2004 to May 2005 (6 months) To give Corlů CCI the means to initiate a professional English training activity starting from the experience of Edirne To give ETSO the means to launch new English courses for new publics and to go on with other language courses

    To give advice to Edirne and Corlů to ensure the continuity of their training activity and to dissiminate the results on other Thracian CCI To reinforce the economic position of the Thrace region by enhancing the role of local CCI in the development of new competitive skills (business English practice) of their company members

    Slide 16:STEP 1 : Setting up of the cooperation between Lyon, Edirne and Corlů November / December 2004

    For Edirne: To go on with new language courses (Greek & Bulgarian) To built up new English courses starting from previous market survey (new target groups) For Corlů: To define target groups To administrate a questionnaire To make synthesis To chose the modules to be developped

    Slide 17:STEP 2 : DISCOVERY OF THE FUNCTIONING OF THE CCIL Language Training Centre (LTC)

    To learn about the CCIL LTC way of treating the main aspects of its activity To attend some specific courses To present a certificate for English professional competences (how to become an approved examination centre for Thrace region. To agree on trainers’ choice and on the commercial offers 13 th to 20th December 2004

    To create (Corlů) or to adapt (Edirne) commercial documents To define for both CCI the communication plan To launch the promotion and communication campaign at Corlů & Edirne End of January 2005 Step 3: Implementation of the commercial & communication action plan for CTSO + ETSO

    To finalise the test levels and the needs of the future trainees To decide on the groups to be opened according to the language level tests To finalise the teaching materials for the different courses to be developed February 2005

    To validate on the spot the pedagogical approach that will be used by English trainers in Corlů & Edirne Launching of the various training sessions by a native English trainer sent from Lyon To invite Turkish trainers from Corlů & Edirne to attend their respective training courses To do a pedagogical debriefing for each local trainer. March 2005

    To coordinate & to assess the trainees’ progress ( final certificate) To do a final evaluation in Corlů & an intermediate one in Edirne To give advice for the future End of May 2005

    ETSO is going to realise partly the transfer of know how to Corlů and will support Corlů at any time they want. Lyon will supervise the transfer of know how from ETSO to Corlů CCI in 2 different ways: -by distance learning - on the spot sending e!xperts and native English teachers from Lyon

    Lyon will support ETSO in the setting up of new language courses Corlů CCI will benefit from the experience of both CCI ( Lyon & Edirne)
