  4. Standard specification Description of purpose intended for Commercial standards of specification Included with units of purchase Included with packing specifications Capable of being checked with acceptable testing methods Incorporated with Code of practice or International standards

  5. Blue print or dimensioned drawing Easy method for checking against specification when item received Advisable as safe method for inspection

  6. Chemical analysis & Physical characteristics Ideal for raw material procurement To conform metallic class / grade Can be accepted by laboratory test certificate

Specifications as required for procurement (as per the guidelines provided by SPIU) • The specifications shall be suitable to impart training as per the prescribed syllabus. • Unbiased technical specifications shall be prepared without mentioning brand names, catalogue numbers, make & model numbers • While preparing specifications use BIS code numbers for standards wherever necessary.
