  1. WHAT IS ENERGY? ENERGY:- THE CAPABILITY OF DOING WORK IS CALLED ENERGY. THE OBJECT WHICH DOES WORK LOSES ENERGY AND THE OBJECT ON WHICH WORK IS DONE GAINS ENERGY.

  2. DIFFERENT FORMS OF ENERGY 1.KINETIC ENERGY-THE ENERGY POSSESSED BY AN OBJECT DUE TO ITS MOTION IS CALLED ITS KINETIC ENERGY.

  3. 2.POTENTIAL ENERGY- THE ENERGY POSSESSED BY AN OBJECT DUE TO ITS POSITION OR CONFIGURATION IS CALLED POTENTIAL ENERGY.

  4. 3.MECHANICAL ENERGY- THE SUM OF KINETIC ENERGY AND POTENTIAL ENERGY IS CALLED MECHANICAL ENERGY. THAT MEANS, K.E.+P.E. = MECHANICAL ENERGY

  5. 4.HEAT ENERGY- HEAT ENERGY IS THE ENERGY IN THE FORM OF HEAT. HEAT ENERGY CAN INCREASE THE TEMPERATURE OF A BODY.

  6. 5.LIGHT ENERGY-THE ENERGY PRODUCED BY HOT OBJECTS LIKE SUN ,STARS, BULBS IS CALLED LIGHT ENERGY. THIS FORM OF ENERGY ENABLES HUMANS TO SEE OBJECTS.

  7. 6.SOLAR ENERGY-THE ENERGY PRODUCED BY SUN IN THE FORM OF LIGHT AND HEAT IS CALLED SOLAR ENERGY.

  8. 7.CHEMICAL ENERGY-THE ENERGY ABSORBED OR RELEASED DURING A CHEMICAL REACTION IS CALLED CHEMICAL ENERGY. FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN WE MIX CALCIUM OXIDE IN WATER,THEN ENERGY IS RELEASED.

  9. 8.ELECRICAL ENERGY –IT IS A FORM OF ENERGY RESULTING FROM THE FLOW OF ELECTRIC CHARGES.
