Workover and completion chemicals or fluids are mostly the same solid-free fluids used in the drilling process. And mainly for the same goal. Whether it is oil, gas, or an injection well, the workover of a well will adjust the well's physical characteristics, enhancing its production capabilities. That can include scale treatment, cleanout of wax, acid stimulation, fracture stimulation, water shut-off, gravel packing, completion, and reperforations.

  1. What are Completion Chemicals? Workover and completion chemicals or fluids are mostly the same solid-free fluids used in the drilling process. And mainly for the same goal. Whether it is oil, gas, or an injection well, the workover of a well will adjust the well's physical characteristics, enhancing its production capabilities. That can include scale treatment, cleanout of wax, acid stimulation, fracture stimulation, water shut-off, gravel packing, completion, and reperforations. The workover and completion fluids are used to work on the well, complete for production. These chemicals are necessary to rework the production formation before production. Also, the liquid helps to protect the production order from damage if the downhole tools fail. Structure damage can reduce the productivity of a well, which affects the return on investment. Cementing additives can be considered workover and completion chemicals because this process is part of the well's completion process. During this process, a pipe is placed down the hole, and cement is pumped into the outside line. That is to prevent the transfer of fluids or gases within wellbore zones. Also, the cement is necessary to protect the casing from collapsing, the effects of drilling, and corrosion, allowing field personnel to control the well better. Because of the depth of the well and other geologic factors, we have to add chemicals to increase setting times and make adjustments for porosity.
