Pilot action Network of Intermediaries To address problems identified: • Lack of co-ordination between intermediaries • Insufficient range of services • Missing sector-specific services • Competition between intermediaries • Insufficient publicity • Lack of communication with regional authorities Main objective: To change the intermediation system from competitive to co-operative

  3. Main activities • Co-ordinate activities of intermediaries • Organize a market research regarding intermediary services • Develop new services (based on market research) • Improve marketing and publicity/awareness rising • Communicate the needs and goals of S&T sphere with regional authorities • Promote professional education, training courses, professional standards and communication among S&T intermediaries

  4. Expected results • Increased co-operation throughout the intermediation system • Increased availability of services, broader offer of services, new specialized services • Matching demand and offer of services • Innovation website (with regional focus) – information source for clients, presentation of services • Established dialogue with regional authorities

  5. Possible partners • Technology and Innovation Centre, Czech Technical University, Prague • Cheval Ltd., Consulting Company for Innovations • Centre for Science, Technology, Society Studies at IP AS CR • Technology Centre of the Academy of Sciences CR • Association of Innovative Entrepreneurship CR • Prague Chamber of Commerce Other members (intermediaries) can join later e.g. Prague Regional Development Agency (to be established in 2008)

  6. Financing • Possible financial resources: Prague EU SF programmes Revenues from services provided by intermediaries Network membership fees • Estimated budget: € 170,000 Highest costs: Market research Provision of new services
