Therefore they Emphasis on states' rights, with the institution of slavery central to the economy and culture. Tensions regarding federal authority.

  4. North After war They had Further industrialization and economic growth due to war-time production. Emergence as an ndustrial powerhouse. This Continued urbanization, growth of the middle class, and increased immigration. Therefore it lead to Victory of the Union solidifies federal authority over states. Reconstruction policies aimed at rebuilding the South and integrating freedmen into society.
