Who Was The Ultimate Warrior? • Ultimate Warrior was successful as a bodybuilder for a while before he switched to wrestling. When he joined WWE in 1987, he became a star right away. His quick rise to the top was capped by his victory over Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VI in April 1990. Early Years As A Pro Wrestler • At the end of 1985, Warrior and Borden both went pro with Memphis, Tennessee’s Championship Wrestling. At first, the two young men were called the Freedom Fighters, but they soon took on the image of bad guys and beat out other bands as the Blade Runners.
