  3. A hydraulics gear pump is a type of positive displacement pump commonly used in hydraulic systems to move hydraulic fluid through a system. It operates by using meshing gears to pump fluid by displacement. As the gears rotate, they create a vacuum at the pump inlet, drawing in the hydraulic fluid, which is then trapped between the gear teeth and the pump casing. The fluid is transported around the casing to the outlet side, where the meshing of the gears forces the fluid out into the hydraulic system.
