About the Company • ABC Bearings was founded as The “Antifriction Bearings Corporation Limited” in 1961 with a technical collaboration with Steyr Diamler Puch AG, Austria to manufacture thrust bearings . • Today, ABC Bearings manufactures a huge range of bearings and industrial products across its numerous factories around India. • The Managing Director of the company is Mr. P. M. Patel an ambitious leader. 3

  4. • The head office of the company is in Bharuch, Gujarat • Where three production plants are located • Company has its other manufacturing facilities at Dehradun and Chennai • Company has its Regional sales office all over India • ABC Bearings Ltd. serves OEM customer directly with their Regional offices in India. ABC have Distributors & Retailer Network to service after market in all 29 states & 625 districts in India • Annual turnover of the company is 1400 cr. 4

Research Methodology • My research was to explore new data about pillow block bearings ,hence it was an exploratory research • Sampling was Non-probability type convenience sampling • Sample size : • As in Nagpur there were not more than 20 dealers exists my sample was of 17 pillow block bearings dealers • This sample was supplemented by the industrial sample of 13 industries 12

Conclusion & Recommendations • The research has been completed successfully and it can be concluded that in pillow block bearings market of Nagpur region brands like SKF and FAG has very strong hold and preference • It would be difficult for ABC Bearings Ltd. to enter into the market as there is an existence of low cost Chinese bearings brands which are preferred by the small scale industries like rice mills or different grain mills which has very less turnover. • Still ABC Bearings Ltd. can try to make its existence in pillow block bearings market with a differentiation and strategy like customer relationship management, technical service assistance i.e. with the help of service marketing concepts • Use of NSK Technical Assistance • Production of indigenous pillow block bearings which will help in keeping the prices low as compared to competitor’s pillow block bearings 29

Scope for Further Research • This research was conducted only in Nagpur region which is a very limited area and this research may not reflect the national scenario hence this research has to be conducted on PAN India level. • This research was conducted only in marketing point of view and does not Financial or HR point of view as to build steps for ABC Bearings ltd only Market study is not sufficient. • Same sort of research has to be conducted with proper trained/skilled researcher or a professional researching agency can be hired as this study was on students academic basis. 30

Limitations • Some Dealers or Distributors outside Nagpur also serves in Nagpur from Mumbai, Aurangabad, Delhi, Kolkata etc. • As from Financial Budget 2015 Finance Minister has increased the service tax rates from 12.36% to 14% with effective from 1 June 2015 ,as a result of this the prices of the bearings taken in this report will also change just after the study. • Discount varies with Sales and sales varies with the variation in crude oil prices in International oil market hence it’s not possible to determine the exact discount of the distributors. 31

Continued… • As most of the Industries have shut down their plants from Nagpur the data collected may vary for any other region • The same results cannot be said applicable to rest of Maharashtra or PAN India. • Cracking Bearings codes of brands like SKF was difficult • The price-lists collected may get revised in future 32

  33. Key Learning • As per our study in academics there is existence of Distributor only between Producer and end consumer in Industrial Distribution Channel but it was found that dealer also exists 33
