  1. Drawing Skills Deciphered 6 ways to hone your skills.

  2. Any kind of activity when practiced with all the zeal and perseverance can be improved and worked upon dramatically – so is the case with drawing. While a lot of people tend to think that their artistic skills are not at par, studies say they may be wrong. We all live with the same brain capacity but how we make use of it differentiates the potential each carries.

  3. And if you are someone who absolutely dreads standing in front of a canvas wondering if you’ll ruin the white open space – then here’s how you can improve. • Practice make perfect • Using the right tools • Good at drawing but dislike colouring? • Enjoy the process • Don’t be too critical • Invest in a good drawing book

  4. Practice make perfect For any art to improve, practice and consistency is the key. You cannot sleep over an idea and expect it to be fruitful without having to do any efforts on it. Same goes with drawing, you cannot just buy a sketchbook online and keep it hidden in plain sight expecting it to fill itself with gorgeous paintings by itself.

  5. Using the right tools A lot of people buy products they don’t necessarily need to hone their craft. Just look for the right pencil onlineand you are good to go. You don’t need to scour through fancy branded products and resources to improve your drawing skills.

  6. Good at drawing Good at drawing but dislike colouring? Change your medium. A lot of people have noticed a positive change when they shift their colour medium. For someone who is blasphemous with crayons can do amazingly well with acrylics or water colours. Know your medium and learn the basics of it.

  7. Enjoy the process If you are result-oriented, chances are you are running the rat race to win the best artist prize. While doing so, you may forget to enjoy what you are doing. Slow down, and enjoy the process. Best things come to life when there’s love to it.

  8. Don’t be too critical Enjoying the process and letting your hands play with colours is the best way for you to come out of the critical rut. Don’t be too harsh on yourself. Learn to let go and enjoy what is. Keep criticism for places that needs it.

  9. Invest in a good drawing book A shady canvas will not offer you the effect you need, so it’s best advised that you look for a quality drawing book online that not just accentuates your art but also helps maintain its dignity.

  10. Art is all that is and if you or your child is practicing this art diligently, then that day ain’t far when they’d be called the next Picasso in the making.
