She likes to study all of the President’s of the United States and their stories of getting to that position in life; what leadership style worked in that time period etc. Especially she likes the quote “Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.” - Thomas Jefferson. Also, her grandfather William E. Davis has always encouraged her to keep going in the business world when the going gets tough. There will be good days, and not so great days for many reasons on either side. His stories in gaining back accounts by good relationship foundations help me think about the bigger picture when unexpected situations arise. She is also a believer in lifelong learning and usually takes either a class towards a new Masters skill or an online course to strengthen her world view and skills that may need updating in her business tool kit so to speak. As a director and business leader, describe a challenge you overcame. She started her business at a relatively young age out of college. She genetically look young for her age, and have received many comments unsolicited like “Young lady, does your father know that you are here working this late?” or “Oh, I thought Dominique was a male.” “May I please speak to the CEO Mr. Cagle” “I need to speak to your supervisor if you don’t let me out of this lease with no penalties.” or “Don’t stay with THAT Corporate Housing company, I heard that they have a day care in there and they won’t take care of you the guest.” Maintaining balance between your professional & personal life? Maintaining the balance between professional and personal life has always been difficult for Dominique as she has 3 children and 2 bonus step-children whom always keep her on her toes with never a dull moment in

This provide valuable individual undivided quality time with each child. “After they turn 18, that rule tends not to happen though,” says her. Her valuable workout time gives health and balance to her body, but also to her mind as she prioritize the things on the agenda for her day that are on her calendar. Kids volunteering in the classrooms at school she schedule evenly among her 3 school age children through the year. Making sure that she sees them with their friends at school, library, lunch, recess, sports, competitions etc. It is her goal to make all of their competitions, recitals, and graduations if possible. Embracing the Technology As she has run this company for 17+ years, her best strength is being passionate person about her business. This passion comes very naturally to her as a 4th generation Entrepreneur. It’s in her blood and was a naturally born sales person before she ever started a business. She like working with people and informing people about her amazing product. She regularly stay in her furnished apartments without prior notice to her employees as a pop inspection so to speak. But, these visits also give her the opportunity to put herself in her guests’ shoes so to speak when they are staying and booking her locations. “Do I like to walk to a certain restaurant? Do I like the softness of my towels? Do I feel safe staying here as a working traveling woman? Is this property pet friendly or not?” Dominique asserts. An Advice to Rely On The best advice she would like to give, is to join WBENC or WPO if one is a woman emerging business leader. If they are a male, join another CEO type support group like Eliances or YPO. There are other options out there as well, but these groups are made for entrepreneurial support because it does get lonely at the top for sure no matter the size of your revenues. Also, the support helps you be a better business leader, and many of these groups invest in these members with helpful content by local or national or international business leaders. Also she states, they help you have opportunities with legitimate exposure for your company with Pitch days and corporate contacts you would not typically have access to if you just walked in the door to some of these large locations of Fortune 500 companies. A Glimpse into Future “This is classified information! Just kidding, I am writing a book right now, and it’s called Bounce Back After 40. It’s an exciting passion of mine to help women get their bodies back after 40. When our metabolisms start to slow down with age, we have to try and eat new ways to compensate without gaining extra unwanted lbs, but it is possible to do the healthy way I promise you,” quotes Dominique.

It took three years to retool and rebuild our Software into a SaaS Solution residing at our long-term ISP, Rackspace Managed Hosting. As we built our Solutions to integrate with the Salesforce environment, we would port them to our other CRM Partners like Creatio, OROCRM, SugarCRM, SuiteCRM, and others. Although the technology foundation of the company was solid, we needed a change in the business model, which is now in place. A SaaS company distinguishes itself by having leading edge Solutions, supported by incredible Customer Service. Given those two building blocks, InterWeave added the third: provide Solutions that allow the Customer to define their workflow and business process dynamically, in a configurable way. These distinctive factors distinguish InterWeave from all others. What people, what books, what life factors have influenced and impacted you? The people I had the good fortune to work with Lehman Brothers, Shearson Lehman, Netscape and the people at Salesforce; all key influencers in my life. When starting my own company, its these people and these experiences that shaped how I played a significant role in the early days and continues to be a InterWeave started life with a very large Enterprise Customer, ACS of Dallas. The team had built the Integration Engine for that marketplace; a SaaS, IaaS Integration Service, consisting of three components; the InterWeave Integration Platform, the Integration Manager and the Interactive Development Environment. How do you diversify your organization’s offerings to entice the target audience? When we met Salesforce in 2003. we were introduced to a new technology delivery platform, SaaS; this changed things. We had spent the three years prior focused on building and extending the Integration Engine for large Enterprise Companies, but Below are the highlights of the interview conducted between Insights Success and Bruce Magown: Give a brief overview of your background and your role in the company. InterWeave is extending their Integrations with Salesforce Lightening Solutions and is very focused on extending the Sage Integration line. How do you sustain your creative leadership spirit in this changing technological era? Listen to your clients and never stop your research. Cloud computing has always provided beneficiary services on demand which has resulted in improved teamwork and empowerment at a lower cost than traditional ways. The value of technology depends on its cost consumption, performance and on-time innovation, the future of business will depend on realizing the vow of cloud computing. Effective Work through Cloud Computing Cloud computing plays an integral part in many sectors including financial, health services, businesses and more. A cloud can be private or public. A public cloud sells services to everyone on the internet. A private cloud is a data center that provides services to a limited number of people. The main motive of cloud computing is to provide easy, scalable access to computing resources and IT services. As we know already, at its best cloud computing enables businesses to focus on performance directly with minimum interruption. Improvising on the foundation of cloud computing – agility, mobility, flexibility and security, the sole aim is to get computation the way you want it. In data collection and analysis, moreover, data now feeds into the existing machine learning system for continuous learning and adjustment. Getting along with this faster improvising technology new ways of working comes handy to maintain a continuous flow. Security is not linear based on static events, but rather an ongoing continuous practice. Analyzing data is faster, but it has to continuous and iterative. Cloud computing will change the future in unimaginable ways. Cloud has been drawing more diverse data sources utilizing faster network speeds resulting in powerful analytics at a lower cost than any technology has seen before. This is leading to create new possibilities for cloud computing including new kinds of product creation, new partnerships and new ways of working. Cloud is mainly used to reduce the time of market applications that need to scale dynamically. Developers are drawn to the cloud due to advanced new services that can be offered into applications, from machine learning to the internet of things (IoT) connectivity. Cloud-based tools often lead to more systematic changes and help in the digital transformation of a company. Looking ahead, if used correctly cloud computing can initiate a new IT model focused on interoperability, standardization, and openness. As changing with time is a necessity, business leaders across the world have to navigate the changing business world with cloud computing. GroGuru's recommendation engine accounts for the data that it gets from the soil sensors, but also crop type, weather, soil type, and additional data. Describe your background and what did you do before you started or came into this business? ith the focus on helping farmers implement strategic irrigation management GroGuru came into existence. The organization measures I am a serial entrepreneur that has run four tech startup companies, including GroGuru. I have had multiple exits including an IPO that lead to a $1 billion valuation. I have an engineering undergrad and an MBA. I've worked in technology my whole career. What is your role in the company? As the CEO and President of GroGuru, Patrick Henry drives the overall strategy and operational execution for an exciting AgTech company that will change the way that farmers grow crops by using an innovative IoT system for precision irrigation and soil monitoring and management. I am the president and CEO of GroGuru. In this role, there are many hats, especially in a startup: chief salesperson, chief operating officer, chief fundraiser, chief recruiter, and chief cheerleader. We are an innovative agriculture technology company focused on strategic irrigation management. We help farmers make more money by increasing crop yield and more efficiently using water and other scarce resources in a sustainable way. In an interview with Insights Success, Patrick has shared key insights of the company and his journey as a serial entrepreneur. 26. According to you, which upcoming/current technology is going to be a disruptive force in a near future? I've had a number of excellent mentors in my career that have really helped to shape and guide my career path. Some of my favourite business books include: The Innovator's Dilemma, Crossing the Chasm, Built to Last, Competitive Strategy, Strategic Selling, and Good to Great, to name a few. I've always been very goal and achievement oriented, and my parents were very supportive of my pursuits. I also love personal development books like Earl Nightingale's Lead the Field and Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich. Other than GroGuru, I think genetic code and genetic editing solutions are going to experience explosive growth and tons of innovation. Also, anything to do with improving soil health and carbon sequestration. As a CEO/leader, describe a challenge you overcame. What is the operating philosophy and cutting-edge solutions/services that the company has been built on? There have been many challenges I've had to overcome in my career. In my experience, adversity is where leadership is tested and proven. I think persistence with patience and a cool head during times of great uncertainty, ambiguity and stress is essential for leadership. In my career, I've had a failed IPO that we turned around and made successful, I've navigated a company through the great recession, and at GroGuru we've had to raise money and build a company in an incredibly difficult funding environment. GroGuru has developed an innovative and now patented technology called the Wireless Underground System, or WUGS, that can communicate through several feet of rock, soil, concrete, etc. This technology enables the permanent installation even in annual field crops. We then apply machine learning to this proprietary data stream and make recommendations to farmers about when and how much to irrigate through a simple, intuitive, farmer-friendly user interface. How do you sustain your entrepreneurial/leadership spirit in this changing technological era? What is your vision for the company for the next five years? I actually wrote a book about this called PLAN COMMIT WIN: 90 Days to Creating a Fundable Startup. I think one of the most important things as a startup leader is to never give up. Don't quit before the miracle happens. And stay I think we can grow to be the leader in irrigation monitoring and management for commercial farmers in the US and worldwide. 24 | August 2020 www.insightssuccess.com
