WORKERS SUFFER SERIOUS INJURIES EVERY DAY There are nearly 3 million nonfatal on-the- job injuries in the private sector every year in the U.S. Nearly one-third of those injuries required days away from work. Every 7 seconds in the U.S., a worker is injured on the job. Approximately 14 workers suffer fatal workplace injuries every day in the U.S. Over 100 million production days are lost because of workplace injuries every year.
