  3. 3. Canada - Ice-fields Parkway The Most Important Information At A Glance Car: Jeep Wrangler Length: about 232 kilometers Duration: at least two days Travel time: June to September Canada is most likely the ultimate road trip country! Already the awesome landscapes and the wild animals make almost every minute a real adventure. During our trip to Canada, we especially liked the Icefields Parkway between Lake Louise and Jasper. Immediately after the small town of Lake Louise, we start on Route 93. The road will lead you past many lakes, if you do not want to stop at all, then at least decide for the Peyto Lake. The best view of this is from the Bow Summit, the highest point on the parkway. To get a good view of the typical wide landscape, it's best to stop at the Saskatchewan River Crossing. Here, three rivers flow together in an open valley and offer a brilliant picture. Another great vantage point is the parking lot near the Panther Falls, because from here you can overlook a part of the Icefields Parkway. Then it's on to the Columbia Icefield, which is the largest concentration of ice south of the Arctic Circle and gives off a really blatant landscape. If you've been on the glacier ice enough, the road will take you next to the Athabasca Falls.

  4. Even behind the 23-meter-high waterfall waiting with the turquoise Athabasca River, which winds its way through the valley, a real highlight on you. For the final leg to Jasper, you can take the smaller 93A road instead of Icefields Parkway. Since it is only through the forest, you have a better chance of encountering one or the other wild animal, such as bears or moose. 4. South Africa - Durban To Cape Town, Including Garden Route The Most Important Information At A Glance Length: about 1,700 kilometers Duration: at least three weeks Travel time: spring and summer Car: station wagon, Land Rover Defender or Jeep Wrangler Tip: Wrong police in yellow safety vests try along the Garden Route often unsuspecting travelers for alleged too fast driving money rip off - they should meet you - just continue! When it comes to road trips, the distance between Durban and Cape Town in South Africa is definitely on your list. The coastline on the Indian Ocean is waiting for you with some adventures. Let's start in the southeastern city of Durban along the N2 in the direction of East London. In Mthatha, it's off down the national road and off to the coast, specifically to Coffee Bay. Here the Wild Coast lives up to its name and especially the "Hole in the Wall", a rock arch in the bay is worth a short hike. Next stop is Kei Mouth, where you can chill out on the beach or surf at Wacky Point, then head east to Port Alfred via East London. Here you can make the Kowi River by canoe uncertain. Then you continue on the sunny coast of South Africa until the start of the Garden Route in Port Elizabeth. On the N2, you first come to Storms River in Tsitsikamma National Park. There you can jump from Bloukrans Bridge 216 meters with the bungee rope into the depths! In addition, the multi-day hike along

  5. the Otter Trail is really great. A little further on you pass Plettenberg Bay. Here's a hike in the Robberg Island Nature Reserve. Or you throw yourself into the sea with snorkels and diving goggles and swim in the midst of wild and super curious seals - an unforgettable experience! The neighboring Knysna is a little quieter, while you explore the elephant reservoir on a mountain bike. If you take a short detour via Oudtshoorn, you'll be rewarded with a cave adventure in the Cango Caves and a crocodile dive at the Cango Wildlife Ranch. Back on the N2, shortly before Cape Town starts Chapman's Peak Drive, which gives you breathtaking views! Definitely make a stop at the Cape of Good Hope and walk down from the parking lot to the infamous Cape. You must stop at Noordhoek Beach, one of the most stunning beaches around Cape Town and often deserted! Even in Cape Town itself some adventures and good coffee are waiting for you: fly down for example with the paraglider from Lion's Head or jump at the Bloubergstrand Beach with the surfboard in the waves! 5. Scotland - Adventure North The Most Important Information At A Glance Length: about 1,300 kilometers Duration: at least 12 days Car: station wagon, jeep or campervan Tip: In Scotland you can camp wild and make your favorite places easy to your campground The north of the UK has a little jewel for road trip fans with Scotland. To discover the unspeakably cool landscape up here, it's best to set off in Edinburgh. But before you get into the car, take a look at the city itself - you can climb the small mountain Arthur's Seat. From there you have the perfect overview. Then it's off to Glasgow, the largest city in Scotland. If you're a fan of Harry Potter, Glasgow University is a must - the building looks almost like Hogwarts and served JK Rowling as a role model. Through the

  6. Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park we continue to Glencoe. Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK, awaits you here. Next up is the Isle of Skye. Definitely a little extra time, because there is a lot to see and a few great hikes are waiting for you. Then it goes through the middle of the Highlands to Ullapool. Be prepared for many stops, because the scenery in this area will blow you away! If you still have not enough of the great views, then there is much more on the mountain Stac Pollaidh. Along the coast to the village Thurso. On the way you will pass Blarimore. From there you can walk about five hours to Sandwood Bay - one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! On your way back south to Iverness, you will pass small bays and hidden beaches. Take your time and enjoy this awesome coastal charter! If you're lucky, you'll even spot minke whales, dolphins or seals. The road will take you to Ballater in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, just waiting to be discovered by bike or on foot. Before you go back to Edinburgh, you can make a short stop in Perth and enjoy the last moments of your adventure in the north.
