  1. Blog 4: Horizontech.com THE INTERESTING CONCEPT OF “SKIP TRACING” The two words, “skip tracer” may remind everyone of the popular 2009 movie of the same title. However, that is not what this blog is out to discuss. The concept of skip tracing was born to discover the location of people who had disappeared to evade the claws of law, or debt. A skip tracer software was then developed to help the debt collectors (or bail bond enforcers) to locate their subjects. In the earlier days, when this software was absent, the methodology to find people resembled the concept of bounty hunting. However, today, the skiptrace software is helping the debt collectors of this world find defaulters. The software works on information collection. When you enter the few details of the subject that you have, the software starts searching for relevant information and forms a database of it. In the next step, this information is analysed for relevance and implications. Useless information is then scrapped. The information that remains is then verified to help you pin point the whereabouts of a certain person. The advances in technology have now allowed this software to be hosted on cloud service providers. Since this software is usually associated with a large amount of data, there is always the issue of storage space running out. Cloud services mitigate this issue by providing enough space and other facilities to help you efficiently manage the software and the data it collects. No matter how huge your database becomes, you will always have enough space to store it on a cloud.
