  2. Is your office ready to embrace the new normal? If yes, it’s time to say yes to safety measures amidst the excitement to meet everyone and getting back to routine. COVID-19 created myriad challenges including employees working from home for more than a year. So much so that employees are now finding it hard to return to work. Call it fear, exertion, or the mere thought of meeting people after long – whatever it is, it’s real. Between people getting ready to return and countries now working to reactivate their economies, here are a few additional safety measures employees should consider- 1. Stay Home If you are sick If you feel sick due to any reason, make sure you keep HR in the loop & continue working from home. Remember you’re not only responsible for yourself but others too. 2. Seeking opportunity Abroad? Make sure to be updated with their Covid 19 Laws If you get a job opportunity to work in another country, make sure you get in touch with them to check the guidelines. Hiring companies in UAE, for instance, are letting candidates know about immigration & related procedures beforehand so they get buffer time.

  3. 3. Nice Meeting you but how to greet you? #No Handshakes Handshakes are a big no – We get it, in the business environment, it looks like the most involuntary response, but at all times, keep in mind that the COVID-19 is still not over and how you must be cautious. 4. Maintain Clean and Healthy Workplace If you don’t see disinfectant wipes, tissues, hand sanitizers, soaps readily available, make sure the HR resources help you to get it done. 5. Practice Good Hygiene And of course, maintain physical distancing and hygiene. Washing your hands frequently and using alcohol-based sanitizer will keep everyone safe around you. 6. Sharing is caring but here Sharing is spreading. #No Lunch break sharing! Take lunch breaks at your desk instead of sitting with everyone and sharing. Even ventilation would help – try to open windows around when you’re having lunch.

  4. 7. Avoid risk by getting fit. #NoPublic Transport! Say yes to walking, cycling, or simply using your transport – public transport could increase the risk of transmitting the virus. If you’re someone who has no option but to travel publicly, tries to avoid rush hour and cover your face properly to minimize the risk. 8. Go Quarantine when it’s necessary. #Know your responsibility! Self-isolate in case of any symptom, even if you’re sure it’s not COVID-19, it’s always a good idea to be cautious and stop the spread. Because for people with low immunity, it becomes even more important to not develop any kind of infection as it’ll make them vulnerable to COVID-19. While employers across the globe are making sure to implement the strictest and best health guidelines, it becomes important for employees as well to comply with the rules. While it may seem a daunting task, in the beginning, to stick to these rules, it’s crucial to approach the return with a lot of caution. Being compliant is not only going to help you, but it’ll also help everyone around in the office to be safe – We’re sure you’d consider returning to the workplace with loads of care and safety, good luck!
