  1. Five Common Symptoms of Low Sperm Count Low sperm count and other male factor infertility problems are more common than people think. In fact, a recent report of WHO shows that 50% of infertility cases in India are caused by male infertility! The Doctors of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) also reported that the average sperm count of a normal Indian adult male these days is only around 20 million/ml. This is three times lower than the average sperm count of 60 million/ml three decades ago. The good news is that fertility treatment in India is an effective solution for problems involving low sperm count. How do you know if you should get checked for this condition? Here are the five most common symptoms of this health problem: 1. Difficulty in ejaculation 2. Low volume of ejaculated fluid 3. Erectile dysfunction 4. Low sexual drive 5. Pain or swelling in the testicle area The less common symptoms of low sperm count are related to hormonal issues. Those who lack facial hair and muscular definition may be exhibiting hormonal problems, though not always. Experts from University of Western Australia also found out that men with deep voices have reduced concentrations of sperm when ejaculating. That's because they have high testosterone levels, which potentially suppresses sperm production. A lab test is required to diagnose such hormonal conditions. A range of fertility treatments in India can counter low sperm count and help couples conceive. These include the following: IUI - Intra Uterine Insemination One of the most effective fertility treatments in India for male factor infertility is IUI. It produces higher success rates than natural conception. The IUI process starts with ovulation induction. The woman's eggs are developed and then fertilized once they mature. Fertilization is done by inseminating the sperm into the uterine cavity of the woman.

  2. ICSI - Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection Another effective fertility procedure for those who are suffering from low sperm count is ICSI. This treatment involves retrieving eggs from both the male and female parent. Fertilization happens outside the woman's body. The success rate is higher because the sperm is mechanically and directly introduced to the woman's egg. Once the embryo is ready to grow, it will be implanted inside the womb where it will further develop.
