  2. What is the ESA? The Employment Standards Act (ESA) states the minimum standards of employment for workers in Ontario, along with the workplace rights and responsibilities of employees and employers. The Act covers most Ontario workers but with several industry exemptions.

  3. Why the ESA Matters The ESA is essential for ensuring fair and consistent workplace practices in Ontario, protecting both employees and employers. Ensures fair treatment of workers.   6. There are some responsibilities that employers just aren’t aware of. For example, did you know that there are a number of posters which some employers must display within the workplace?
