  3. Working Principle of Industrial Water Cooled Chillers • In order to remove heat from the refrigerant pipes, water cooled chillers encase them in water. • To dissipate the heat, the water is pushed into a cooling tower.

  6. Centrifugal Water Chiller • The compressor of a centrifugal water chiller is of the centrifugal kind. • The gas's kinetic energy is increased, which in turn raises the pressure, in a centrifugal compressor.

Screw Water Chiller • Also known as helical-rotary water chillers, this type of chiller uses a screw compressor to provide mechanical work for its vapor compression cycle. • A screw compressor is a type of positive-displacement, rotary compressor which typically uses two helical screws as rotors.

Scroll Water Chiller • The cooling capacity of a conventional scroll chiller is rather low. • Multiple scroll compressors may be installed in a single chiller package to improve its capacity. • Their COPs are similar to those of the screw designs, suggesting that they are as efficient. • Several techniques of refrigerant management are available, including speed control and variable displacement control, for use in situations with fluctuating cooling needs.

  9. Reciprocating Water Chiller • Water chiller uses a reciprocating piston or plunger to draw and compress the refrigerant. • Because of their nature of producing compression, they are also classified as positive-displacement compressors.
