  1. Ways To Improve Speech Skills Speech sound articulation issues can affect a person's ability to communicate effectively with others as well as their confidence in doing so. Both adults and children can benefit from many strategies for developing and enhancing their speech sound abilities. Utilise a movie or a mirror to practise. Practise challenging sounds in front of a mirror so you can see what your lips and tongue are doing. This will help you or your child's speech sound skills. A smart technique to figure out how you are uttering tough sounds is to record brief video clips of you or your child making them.

  2. It is an enjoyable interactive technique to focus on those challenging sounds. Additionally, it can be beneficial to connect a difficult sound you or your child is having with a gesture or movement. For instance, making a mock sneeze while your child is having trouble with the 'ch' sound can frequently encourage correct production of the 'ch' sound (ahh-choo). Modelling in person. Face-to-face modelling is a helpful technique that encourages children to feel at ease and not under pressure to repeatedly repeat an inaccurate sound. You might hear your child say, "Look at the gog" while you are speaking with them. Recognise what they have said and slowly repeat it back to them, being sure to mimic the speech sounds, for example, "Yes, look at the dog." While concentrating on the consonants they struggled with, you may also elaborate on what they said, such as "Yes, look at the dog. The canine enjoys jogging. If you do this regularly, your child will benefit from hearing the sound accurately modelled throughout your engagement. Song singing Singing is a fantastic method to simultaneously work on language skills and speech sounds. Singing while alternating vocal tones engages a different brain region and can enhance language and sound learning. Songs are a fantastic resource since they often contain words with the sound your child is struggling with. For instance, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" would be a fantastic song to practise together if you are working on the "t" sound because it contains many "t" sounds at the beginning, middle, and end of words.
