  2. EL CHAKU DE VICUÑA El chaku de vicuña es una práctica ancestral que consiste en el encierro, captura, esquila y posterior liberación de vicuñas.

  3. EL CHAKU DE VICUÑA Esta práctica se hace en forma conjunta.

  4. EL CHAKU DE VICUÑA En tiempos pasados, la vicuña, animal silvestre, fue fundamental para que los pueblos indígenas pudiesen sobrevivir en la Puna.

  5. EL CHAKU DE VICUÑA Su carne era utilizada para el consumo y su fibra para la confección de tejidos e hilados.

  6. EL CHAKU DE VICUÑA Actualmente, esta costumbre continúa: un grupo de personas rodea a las vicuñas, formando un “cordón humano” para arrearlas hacia corrales.

  7. EL CHAKU DE VICUÑA Cada integrante debe estar atento porque si “rompen el cordón”, algunas vicuñas podían escapar y el trabajo se echaría a perder.
