GAL Power – A Case Study of Temporary Power Solutions for Toronto Pride

GAL Power Systems, provider of customized power solutions, highlight their work with the 2017 Toronto Pride Parade. GAL had to supply power, distribution, and temporary lighting for the 3-day event which spread across 7 kilometers. We supplied power to over 100 booths/vendors on multiple streets.<br>Some challenges GAL faced were short set up and tear down times and the need for 24/7 support during the 3-day event. To overcome these and more challenges, GAL used 14 generators (over 2 Mega Watts of power), 30,000 linear feet of cabling, and had a 5-crew support team to deal with any issues. SCOPE OF WORK – Toronto Pride Parade • Supply power, distribution and temporary lighting to this 3 day event that hosts over 1.5 million people and is spread out over a 7 km radius in downtown Toronto • Supply power to 5 stages at various locations along with distribution • Supply power to over 100 booths and vendors on multiple streets including individual outlets and with temporary lighting for each booth Knowledge is Power….   4. CHALLENGES • Event set up and tear down in a very constricted time frame • 24-hour support must be available during set up and during the entire 3 day event Knowledge is Power…. Never be Powerless

SOLUTION • Supplied 14 generators in various sizes with over 2 Mega Watts of power • 30,000 linear feet of cabling installed with over 14 distribution panels to run stages and other event requirements • 130 spider boxes installed with over 900 individual outlets to support stages/ booths and vendors • Installed over 3,000 feet of temporary lighting for booths and vendors • Event set up and tear down with deadlines met and • 24-hour support with 5 support work crews Knowledge is Power….
