Most are buildings that have been adapted

Sikhs settled here after The World War 2, and after India’s independence – India and Pakistan

There are more Sikhs in Britain than in any other country, apart from India

The Guru Granth Sahib is present

Follow the teachings of 10 Gurus

  • Guru Nanak was the first Guru
  • The Guru Granth Sahib ( Sacred Book ) is the last Guru
  • A religion tha developed from aspects that were common between Islam and Hinduism
  • Helping and respecting others are one of the main foundations of this religion
  • Full members are members of the Khalsa

  • Kesh – Uncut hair.The hair is a gift from God therefore it must be kept
  • Kangha – small comb. Keep clean – the hair and mind
  • Kirpan – sword. Defend their faith
  • Kara – bracelet.
