Definition. Primary . No secondary sexual characteristics by the age of 14, or no menstruation by the age of 16. Secondary. No menstruation for more than 6 months in a normal female of reproductive age that is not due to pregnancy . Primary and secondary amenorrhoea may have mutually exclusive causes.
