  2. 1. Increase your reading count You may improve your writing by reading a lot. To prepare for the IAS, you must read a lot, but the next time you read a newspaper or magazine, take note of the writing style as well. By reading more, you ingrain positive writing habits into your subconscious mind, which will manifest themselves in your writing. Therefore, reading more is the first step in figuring out how to write better answers for the UPSC Mains Exam.
