Tips on How to Prepare for UPSC Examination Civil Service Examination (CSE) is conducted nationwide by Union Public Sevice Examination (UPSC) as a very prestigious evaluation to recruit eligible candidates for different civil services of the Government of India. UPSC syllabus 2020 is formulated and maintained by CSE. This examination is attempted by lakhs of people, and only a small fraction of people are selected based on their merit. Exam Pattern for UPSC UPSC examination decides the future of Indian Administrative Services and IAS Exam is one of the toughest exam conducted in India, due to immense competition and highly complex UPSC syllabus 2020. This examination is conducted in two phases are known as Preliminary and mains examination, respectively, for the first and second phase. These two phases are followed by the last evaluation in the form of Personal Interview. There are two papers under the UPSC Prelims Examination, and both of them are related to General Studies. Both of the paper is of 200 marks each and aspirants have to complete each paper within 2 hours of time. The Mains exam consists of nine papers with General Studies, English, Essay papers and other optional/additional papers. Each paper is for 250-300 marks, and three hours will be allotted for each paper. UPSC Exam is not only for highly intellectual people, but it requires a higher amount of skillsets to face the dynamic Personality Tests being conducted during the last phase of Personal Interview. Preparation for UPSC Examination An aspirant should know the entire UPSC syllabus 2020 for developing a framework for the preparation. A daily routine should be prepared systematically as an IAS officer would do. The syllabus should be streamlined with the given timeline, and applicants should prepare accordingly. UPSC aspirants should regularly read newspapers to keep themselves updated with the current affairs. There are certain government-sponsored magazines like Kurukshetra and Yojana, which provides guidelines according to the recent government initiatives. Recent publications and books as per syllabus recommendation should be consulted. UPSC aspirants should read and understand the CBSE textbooks from class 9 to class 12 related to social studies. While going through different journals, magazines, recent publications and newspaper, it is advisable to prepare short notes. This will create conceptual clarity and organize the thought process and views of the candidates. UPSC demands the aspirants should possess flawless perceptions about the current affairs to complete the evaluation with successful merit score.
