EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and successfully complete ninety (90) classroom hours of courses in subjects related to real estate appraisal which shall include fifteen (15) classroom hours of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Experience may not be substituted for education. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS Applicant must successfully pass the written State Certification / Licensing Examination, with a minimum score of seventy (70%) percent. Examination fees cannot exceed $200.00. Should you fail the examination, retake procedures are: must pay examination fee and can be retaken at the next scheduled examination date. Education requirements must be met prior to being seated for the examination. GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION Must be eighteen (18) years of age. Must be deemed as competent by the board. No health requirements. Kentucky residents must maintain a definite place of business in Kentucky. No residency requirements for state certification. There will be annual renewal of certificates, the date to be determined by the board.

CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (after licensure or certification) The equivalent of fourteen (14) classroom hours of instruction in courses or seminars for each year during the period preceding the renewal is required. SPECIAL COMMENTS or CONDITIONS Equivalent of two (2) years appraisal experience, and a minimum of two thousand (2,000) hours of actual appraisal experience. Hours may be treated as cumulative.
