  4. Beyond the Shelf • In 2002 IMLS funded project to digitize 1000 books on Kentucky from microfilm • Preselected material from SOLINET Cooperative Microfilm Project • Project very “boutique” • Balance quality vs. quantity

  6. National Digital Newspaper Program • Funded by NEH • Phase 1 - 2005 – we are now in Phase 3 • Chronicling America http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/ • We proposed a totally in-house process! • We also serve this content from the KDL

In Summary… • We have deep expertise in imaging, newspaper conversion, microfilm-to-digital conversion, and oral history • We are a “can-do” operation • We like to help others gain skills in these areas • We are currently working on projects with “born digital” newspaper content and digital preservation
