General PostOp Expectations After anesthesia you may have: dizziness, muscle aches, sore throat, nausea/vomiting, Drowsiness & Dreams For the next 24 Hours: Do not drive or operate machinery, do not drink alcohol, Take only prescribed medication, Defer any important decisions Keep Dressing clean & dry

  5. AbdominoplastyWhat to Expect Pain resolved in 1-2 Weeks Swelling and dumbness of the abdomen Expect to see ~50% of contour improvement in 2 weeks. ~75% at 1 month, ~100% after 3 months

  6. AbdominoplastyDressing & Drain Care • Dressing removed 1-2 days after • Drains removed 4-10 days after surgery • Twice a day empty bulb

  7. AbdominoplastyRestrictions Activity: Most return to normal activities and work 10-14 days after surgery. Strenuous activity prohibited for 6 weeks Do not SMOKE for 2 weeks Sleep on back or side, NOT stomach Do not sit in the Sun or heat for 4 weeks

  8. Breast AugmentationWhat to Expect Rest: Be prepared to rest for 48 hours Medications: Take antibiotics and pain medication prescribed Sun: Do not sit in sun or heat for 4 weeks Dressing: Do not remove until Dr. Zevon allows it

  9. Liposuction Rest for 48 hours Medication: take prescribed medication Compressive Garments: Wear day and night for 2 days. Essential for proper contouring. After 30 hours, you may shower. After day 5, you may take a bath

  10. LiposuctionDrainage, Bruising, Swelling Draining: some fluid draining or ooze into dressing. Fluid clear red is normal Bruising: Extensive bruising and swelling common. Plateaus at 48-72 hours Liposuction of abdomen- bruising of genitalia normal 50% of contouring within 30 days, 75% at 2 months. 100% after 3 months
