  1. CLIMATE CHANGE: ACTIONS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  2. INTRODUCTION • Climate change is one of the biggest global challenges today. • Rising temperatures, melting ice caps, extreme weather events → major risks. • Human activities like burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and overconsumption accelerate the problem.

  3. CAUSES OF CLIMATE CHANGE Climate change is mostly caused by human activities that raise the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Burning fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas emits significant volumes of CO₂, which traps heat and contributes to global warming. Deforestation contributes to climate change by decreasing the amount of trees that absorb CO₂ from the atmosphere.

  4. Environmental: Rising sea levels, loss of biodiversity, wildfires. • Social: Food & water insecurity, migration, health risks. • Economic: Crop failures, damage to infrastructure, rising energy costs. • Affects every nation, rich or poor. IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE

  5. ACTIONS AT INDIVIDUAL LEVEL Switch off unused lights & appliances 01. • Save energy: switch off lights, use energy-efficient appliances. • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle → minimize waste. • Choose sustainable transport: walking, cycling, public transport. • Adopt plant-based diets or reduce meat consumption. • Conserve water and green spaces Use public transport, walk, or cycle 02. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle waste 03. Save water and fix leakages 04.

  6. CONCLUSION • Climate change is real, urgent, and global • Small actions by individuals create big impacts • Governments & communities must support green policies • Together we can protect our planet for future generations • “The Earth is not ours; it’s a treasure we hold in trust for our children.”
