  2. Sites to Visit in Byodo-In Temple ◦ Hawaii is one of the favorite places that tourists love to visit. This is no surprise as the Aloha State is truly a dream destination, particularly for people looking for delicious food, pristine beaches, outstanding surf, diverse culture, and ample activities to enjoy while on vacation. ◦ While the paradise state has 137 islands, there are only eight major islands visitors can actually visit, and one of them is Oahu. This island is also dubbed “The Gathering Place,” as travelers often visit it due to the spectacular views, white sand beaches, unique wildlife, as well as fascinating attractions and sights. ◦ When sightseeing in Hawaii, vacationers should not miss visiting the Byodo-In Temple. It is a haven for various birds such as peacocks and black swans and is home to hundreds of Japanese koi carp. Accordingly, it also gives visitors relaxation with its lush-green landscape, meditation niches, waterfalls, and large reflecting pond. ◦ But apart from these, there are also other sites that visitors should check out, including: ◦ Amida Buddha ◦ The Amida Buddha is a golden Buddha with a whopping 9-feet height – said to be the largest sculpture carved outside Japan. Inside the sanctuary where the Amida Buddha is placed, visitors will see 52 more statuettes that depict Boddhisattvas. ◦ This sanctuary is a sacred place of worship for the Buddhist population in Oahu, and visitors must take off their shoes when visiting this site.

  3. Sites to Visit in Byodo-In Temple ◦ Bon-Sho (the Sacred Bell) ◦ Bon-Sho, or the Sacred Bell, is located inside the Bell House, or kanetsuki-do, in Byodo-In Temple. It is a 5-foot- tall, 3-ton brass bell that resemblesthe bell hung at the Byodo-In Temple in Uji, Japan. ◦ Customarily, the Sacred Bell is rung by visitors before entering the temple – ringing the bell is believed to purify an individual’s mind of evil spirits and temptations as well as bring them happiness, blessing, and long life. ◦ Ocean View Terrace ◦ The ocean view terrace is a 10-acre hilltop oasis in the Byodo-In Temple. The spot allows you to see the heart- shaped memorial garden, the scenery in the valley of The Temples Memorial Park, fascinating ocean views. ◦ Visit Oahu Attractions and Sights with Go Hawaii Tours ◦ To ensure that you visit Byodo-In Temple as well as other attractions and sights in Oahu Island for a memorable Hawaii experience, you must seek help from local tour operators like Go Hawaii Tours.
