  1. Make The Most Of Your Fishing Experience When you want to experience the highlights of the world of sportfishing in Costa Rica, there is no better place to go than Crocodile Bay. Crocodile Bay is home to Central America’s largest professional sportfishing team and they are ready to take care of all your fishing requirements regardless of what level you are on. This team knows the local waters, the fish you’ll find in it and when and where the biggest catches lure in the water, ready to take a bite on your bait. The team has several 33- and 5-foot Strike Tower boats, but you can also opt for some smaller versions as they have 24- and 25-foot Boston Whaler Outrages available as well. It means that when you opt to enjoy your sportfishing experiences with the Crocodile Bay team, you have the option of offshore or inshore fishing. The waters around this region are usually quite calm and it makes almost every day a good fishing day. They equip these boats with the most advanced fishing gear. The last and probably the most beneficial attribute of this trusted team is that every member on board is familiar with the local waters and fishing grounds. As they are such professionals under the guidance of Diego Camacho, a man with decades of experience in the field, they share some helpful insights to improve your sportfishing experience. The type of bait you uses is of utmost importance. This team believes the fresher the better. If you can’t find fresh, take your bait, frozen from fresh and packed in individual portions. When you find a damaged packet with freezer burn, then rather discard the entire packet as these will bring you no good bites. Try to find fresh mullet and make a small incision between the eyes before laying it on a flat surface. Just a little pressure will then completely flatten the head and deliver an easy-to-use profile to hook on for your next catch. It is also good to know what kind of fish you would be catching on these trips. As it is big monsters you would be pulling out, be prepared to catch some Marlin. These you would be happy to find mostly in November and December and then they are back in the waters around March and April. The water is also alive with Black Marlin during July and August and you will be able to catch a Striped Marlin during the same time of year. Sailfish is far more common though and you’ll be able to find these around the entire year while they are far more common during November to May. Another species that you’ll find during the entire year

  2. is Dorado. While you can find these any time of the year, they are higher in their numbers during January to May and then during November and December, you’ll spot them nearly everywhere. One of the most exciting catches you’ll ever fight from the water is tuna. Yellowfin remain the big boys that weigh in around 100 to 300 pounds and can put up a battle. They are also around all year long and you’ll often come across schools of porpoises that enjoy the waters just off the shore and as the tuna feed off the same fish you are bound to find a big fish in the waters nearby. One surprise species you might be lucky to catch as well is Wahoo. Every time that someone is pulling a Wahoo out of the water, is a fantastic moment for these big fish are far less common in the waters of this area.
