  1. SOIL MADE BY CHETAN BHAGAT VII C

  2. THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF SOIL • Sandy Soil • Clayey Soil • Loamy Soil

  3. Sandy Soil • Sandy soil is a soil which has a very high content of sand. This soil is very coarse and harsh for plants and trees to grow in and generally found in urban areas.

  4. CLAYEY SOIL • Clay or clay soil is mainly composed of the smallest particles of soil, which are densely packed with very little or no airspace and they effectively retain water. This soil is not suitable for growing plants as it is harder for moisture and air to penetrate into the soil.

  5. Loamy Soil • By definition, loamysoils are friable, possessing a mixture of clay, sand, and humus (and/or silt) that is ideal for growing plants.

  6. Percolation Of Water • Percolation is the property of the absorption of water by soil • If we pour a bottle of water in the soil and another bottle of water on the floor, the water on the floor will flow... • The percolation rate is simply the amount of water absorbed by any soil at any given time period

  7. Formula • Percolation rate (ml/min) = amount of water (ml) / percolation time (min). For example, If 200 ml of water is percolated through the soil sample in 40 min.

  8. Percolation Rate • Among the types of soil sandy soil has the largest particle size while clayey soil has the smallest particle size. Therefore clayey soil has the least percolation rate.

  9. Humus
