It is up to the Aircraft Main- tenance Engineering profes- sionals to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of an aircraft through maintenance, repair, and overhaul process- es Aircraft Maintenance En- gineering has roles like look- ing after passenger and crew safety by conducting regular maintenance and inspections to identify and rectify issues before they become serious safety concerns. This entire procedure helps increase effi- ciency by extending the lifes- pan of aircraft using regular maintenance and repair work. The job of an AME in- volves a lot of collaboration with other aviation person- nel to uphold aircraft con- ditions. Their responsibil- ities are categorized into three main areas: line main- tenance, base maintenance, and component maintenance. The routine maintenance pro- cedures that line maintenance conducts during turnarounds are aimed at ensuring the flight safety and readiness of aircraft for flights. On the other hand, base maintenance involves extensive inspec- tion and repair activities done in hangars or facilities. This includes scheduled main- tenance, overhaul work, as well as repairs that demand specialized tools or skills. Engine, landing gear, and avionics are just a few of the specific aircraft components that component maintenance works on to ensure compli- ance with safety standards. Understanding the impor- tance of AME needs a bit of in-depth research. AMEs are responsible for maintaining aircraft to the highest safety standards, contributing to the safe and effective function- ing of the aviation industry.
