  1. Bright Water School: An Independent Waldorf School in Seattle

  2. A private school in Seattle that follows the Waldorf philosophy of education, Bright Water School is open to children that are of ages fit for preschool, grade school and high school. Bright Water School is located in the historic and extensively renovated St. Nicholas building. The location itself and the environment it boasts all in all inspire learning and the beautiful classrooms, gardens, wide playgrounds and neighboring parks all complete the formula. Education, just as the other aspects of life that make us complete, have become widely diverse on its own. Back in the day, we have been so used to the traditional way of schooling, but now, there are a lot of philosophies that truly shapes and continues to change the education landscape. What do we know about Waldorf education that is being offered by Bright Water School? What Bright Water School does know is that the Waldorf curriculum is multi-disciplinary and an experiential form of education. It involves artistic and practical activities that are aimed at developing self-reliance, self-discovery and an appreciation for beauty among its students. The said curriculum sees to it to immerse its students in 3 important and basic aspects of learning - image, sound, and movement. At Bright Water School, teachers make it a point to develop among their students a strong sense of self-awareness and a compassionate awareness to others. The mission at Bright Water is to provide students a dynamic education that will prepare them for the challenges that the ever-changing and complex world has to offer to them. To achieve this mission, the school provides students with a classic education and equips them with significant social tools that they will need to navigate the future later on. At Bright Water School, students are immersed in a supportive environment; students are surrounded by teachers who lead by example and enrolled in classes that stimulate the use of their senses and physical movement to appreciate art, life and nature. Although the formal schooling follows rather later on than sooner, Waldorf students, once they reach grade school and high school are given the academic skills they need to know the world around them and they are put in situations that will let them apply what they learned creatively. It teaches them how to be street smart also. After all, learning should not only be confined to what the book dictates and says. It is about balancing academics with art and practical activities, which are all at the core of the Waldorf curriculum followed at Bright Water School. These are the following programs that are being offered at Bright Water School:  Parent and child classes  Preschool  Kindergarten  Grade school  Athletics  Extended day program Learn more about Bright Water School and how this private school in Seattle can fit the profile of a veritable school for your child by visiting the Bright Water School website at http://www.brightwaterschool.org/.
