  2. Why It Is Important to Have Strong Social Skills and Some Ways to Enhance Them Making friends, getting out, and meeting new people is not always simple for everyone. Some people tend to steer clear of social situations because they can feel anxious or uncomfortable. Some people prefer their alone time to be surrounded by others because they are naturally introverted. Whatever group you fit into, it's still preferable to develop strong interpersonal skills and efficient communication techniques.

  3. LEARN NONVERBAL COMMUNICATION • Speaking is only one aspect of social skills. In order to establish rapport and foster trust, nonverbal clues are also very important. When speaking with someone, make eye contact, occasionally nod to show you're listening, and adopt an open body stance to avoid • coming across as closed • off.

  4. Use Everyday Interactions to Your Benefit Ask Your Friends and Family You may develop your social skills at no better time than during routine tasks or activities like when you go to the grocery store, go for a walk, or get something to eat, try branching out. Even though you might detest small talk, it occasionally starts interesting conversations. Instead of attempting to develop your social skills on your own, ask your friends and family for assistance. Inquire about their opinions of your social abilities, how they would rate them, and suggestions for improvement.
