    2. Starter task You need to give out the business type cards to your class. You need to check how many students there are before allocating cards out. There needs to be more PLC shareholders than Ltd’s and fewer partnership members than Ltd shareholders…. For the task to work…. There has to be just 1 sole trader, at least 2 partners, at least 3 Ltd’s and then 4 plc sharholders…. This assumes only 10 in the class…. You will need to do the maths ‘quickly’ at the start before handing these out You will also need to have a set of scissors for the groups to use – as they will need to cut out their money! At the end of the activity they can KEEP their money if they want to!

    3. Aims To ensure you all understand the key issues involved in business legal structure To understand the importance of liability To understand the benefits/drawback of each legal structure

    4. Recap last lesson What is a sole trader? What is a ‘partnership’ What does Ltd stand for? What does Plc stand for? What’s the main difference between Ltd & Plc?

    6. Some questions for you to decide on… Here’s some profit for you to share out….. What’s your share of the profits? You will need to ‘cut up’ your money to equally share out between business members…. Who has the ‘most’ profit? Which group has the least profit? Which group finished the work 1st? Why…. Is this a problem for some businesses? Monopoly Money – give out $160 dollarsMonopoly Money – give out $160 dollars

    7. Finance…. Which business/company… Would find it the easiest to raise new funds? Would have had the most ‘start up capital’? If a business was to fail…who would have the largest debt to deal with?
