Trust the Best Lightning Protection Systems for Optimal Safety

Conventional lightning protection systems protect buildings, equipment, and people from lightning strikes by using lightning rods to attract the lightning and conduct the resulting surge current to ground via a grounding wire or the buildingu2019s steel frame. 2. Conventional lightning protection systems protect buildings, equipment, and people from lightning strikes by using lightning rods to attract the lightning and conduct the resulting surge current to ground via a grounding wire or the building’s steel frame. However, the associated electromagnetic pulse (EMP) can cause a surge current to flow through electronic devices in the building, resulting in damage to equipment. In contrast, the new Dissipation Array lightning protection system prevents lightning damage by inhibiting the lightning strikes themselves. 2 https://www.lightningprotection.com/

  3. DAS interrupts the formation of upward streamers through point discharge, a phenomenon where a well-grounded point exchanges ions between the air and the ground. Point discharge becomes more efficient when the points are connected to a low-impedance grounding system and more ions can be transferred with a greater number of points, interrupting the formation of upward streamers, thereby preventing direct strikes. The DAS lightning protection system consists of a hemispherical ionizer formed from wires to which a large number of protruding rods have been welded. It is installed at the highest point on the building being protected and connected electrically to a ground current collector buried in the ground The Dissipation Array System is a key component of your lightning protection system, working with grounding and surge suppression to achieve complete protection. ▪ ▪ 3 https://www.lightningprotection.com/

  4. A typical system includes: A typical system includes: 1. The Dissipation Array is available in a range of configurations for almost any structure. 2. A low-impedance grounding system using chemically-charged electrodes (Chem-Rod). 3. Transient Voltage Surge Suppression (TVSS) to protect against transients traveling through data lines and other conductive paths. 4. Modular strike prevention devices (SBI) to supplement the Dissipation Array’s area of protection as needed. 4 https://www.lightningprotection.com/

  5. Benefits of installing LEC’s DAS lightning protection Benefits of installing LEC’s DAS lightning protection systems systems 1. Lightning current cannot damage the electronic equipment on the tower. 2. Million Volts of energy cannot damage the indoor electrical system at facilities. 3. Service drops due to lightning damage are not an issue any more. 4. Structural damage by explosive pressure effect of lightning is prevented. 5. Sudden rise in temperature causing fire and explosions are blocked. 6. Electromagnetic field of lightning current cannot affect the sensitive electronics on the path of flow to ground. 7. Most importantly; no incident resulted with injuries or deaths. 5 https://www.lightningprotection.com/
