3. OUR ARTISTS Barbara Mendes "Barbara ""Willy"" Mendes is an American cartoonist and fine artist. Known for the spiritualist focus of her “Underground Comix” in the 70’s, she has been a painter for over 50 years with exhibits in NY, Chicago, Florida, and LA. Barbara invented the style she refers to as “Epic Paintings” in her youth. Her colossal canvases and biblical murals are filled with hierarchal, narrative imagery and brilliant colors; woven into intricate compositions. 4. Elena Gatti Elena is an independent creative from Chicago. Her art has whimsical elements and a generous use of bright colors. For Elena, Drawing animals has always been an interest since she was a little kid and she works on pieces that generate a sense of nostalgia. Her art taps into familiar and retro elements created through the use of color, shape, texture, and nature. Ferris Plock Ferris Plock is a San Francisco, California-based artist. Through a variety of mediums like acrylic, watercolor, spray paint, India ink, gold or silver leaf, and collage, he creates highly detailed works, often character-based paintings on wood panels, that combine contemporary pop culture with the aesthetic of Japanese ukiyo-e woodblocks. Plock brings a dedicated focus to his work that is paired with a wild sense of originality. 5. Hyun Jung Ji Born in South Korea, Hyun Jung Ji currently lives and practices as a professional painter and illustrator in Los Angeles, California. She began to develop her unique illustrative style and meticulous approach to painting during the days of her BFA in Illustration at Art Center College of Design, CA. She produces engaging narratives populated by multiple figures of herself. Hyun’s works are inspired by her childhood. Her painting plays a role as a medium to connect herself of the past with herself of the present. She has featured at MvVO’s AD Art show, 2018 and 2019 at Sotheby’s NYC and World Trade Center and also exhibited at ArtShare LA, La Luz de Jesus, Malamegi lab and Artrooms Fair London. Matthias Brown Matthias Brown aka Traceloops is a New Jersey-based artist and animator. Having been inclined towards making art since a very early age, he went on to pursue a BFA in graphic design from SCAD Atlanta. Traceloops literally translates to using tracing paper to create looping animations and reflects Matthias’ experiments with digital and analogue forms of rotoscoping. Rotoscoping is a method where animators trace real footage frame by frame to create live-action animations with a hand drawn feel. Through this and other animation techniques, Matthias likes to play with the perception of motion and creates hypnotic work in his unique style and aesthetic. https://exhibitacollection.com
