What is Thyroid Goiter

Gaucher disease is an inherited condition (passed down through families). It is a lysosomal storage disorder, a type of disease that causes fatty substances to build up in the bone marrow, liver and spleen. The fatty substances (sphingolipids) weaken bones and enlarge the organs, so they canu2019t work like they should. There is no cure for Gaucher disease, but treatments can relieve symptoms and greatly improve quality of life.<br>

  2. What is a thyroid goiter? A thyroid goiter is an abnormally large thyroid gland. A thyroid goiter develops either because the whole gland is swollen or the gland has multiple growths or nodules within it.   4. Types of Thyroid Goiter ? 1. Thyroid goiter is a cervical goiter meaning that it is all within the neck area. It can cause the trachea to be pushed to one side or it can be involved with the major blood vessels in your neck (carotid artery) 2. substernal goiter is when the thyroid has abnormally enlarged over time and has grown below the collar bone and into your chest.
