The Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET) is a bi-annual exam whose main purpose is to recruit role of teaching from class 1st to the class 8th across India. This exam has two paper sets.   2. Introduction Central Teacher Eligibility Test or CTET is a bi-annual exam. Candidates take the CTET to become qualified for the role of teaching across the country. Hiring boards regard it as the minimum qualification a person has to hold to become a teacher in India. A CTET certified teacher can teach in standards I to VIII. The Government of India to start holding a minimum qualifying examination for teachers across the country for a certain reason. This reason is explainable in three points: 1. Firstly, the recruitment boards now hire teachers for grades I to VIII in better standards. Thus, this ensures quality. 2. Secondly, both teachers and students in teacher education institutions have to look within themselves. Thus, they increase their effort and quality of performance. 3. Thirdly, the stakeholders in the education system will no longer have to worry about the teachers. Certainly, the newly recruited teachers are have gone through adequate and rigorous quality checks. So, the education system is now free of hiring by other means.

CTET Eligibility Criteria Basic Qualifications for a Teacher of Classes I to V/Primary Level: • Either Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks or passed from a Government-recognized institution. • Appearing in a two-year Diploma course in Elementary Education • Either Senior Secondary with 45% marks or appearing in a two-year Diploma course in Elementary Education according to the NCTE Regulations. • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks. Either passed or appearing in the final year of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education course. • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks. Either passed or appearing in the final year of a two-year Diploma course in Education with emphasis on Special Education. • Graduation with at least 50% marks. Additionally, they must have a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). Basic Qualifications for a Teacher of Classes VI to VIII/Elementary Level: • Graduation accompanied by either passing or appearing in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education. • Graduation with at least 50% marks. Either passed or appearing in a one-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) course. • Graduation with at least 45% marks. Either passed or appearing in a one-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) according to NCTE Regulations • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks. Either passed or appearing in the final year of a four-year Bachelor in Elementary Education course. • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks. Either passed or appearing in the final year of four-year courses of B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed • Graduation with at least 50% marks. Either passed or appearing in a one-year B.Ed. on Spl. Education.

  4. CTET Eligibility Criteria Other things to keep in mind regarding CTET Eligibility: Anyone who has qualified B.Ed. Program from a recognized Institution by the NCTE is eligible to appear in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test Anyone who is pursuing teacher education courses recognized by NCTE is qualified to appear for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. Anyone belonging to reserved categories like SC/ST or Differently-Abled people are eligible to receive up to 5% relaxation in qualifying marks in their respective educational exams. A candidate must be 18 years of age. However, there is no upper age limit to appear for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test

  6. CTET Admit Card The Central Teacher Eligibility test requires a candidate to register on the official website and submit their application. However, the Board issues the CTET candidate an Admit card if they successfully submit their application. The date for downloading the CTET Admit card will be available on the official website www.ctet.nic.in. According to the official CTET Notification, candidates should show the Admit Card at the exam center. Or else the Board won’t approve them to sit for the CTET. This admit card is considered a permission slip to sit in the exam. Moreover, it is also used to identify the candidate. The CTET Exam Admit Card holds important details such as your examination center, the date of the examination, the languages opted in Language I and Language II, the time of reporting in the examination venue, the starting time of the examination, etc.

  7. CTET Result The CTET results of the 2021 Central Teacher Eligibility Test have been announced. The qualifying candidates are required to have a minimum of 60%. Candidates can check their results website www.ctet.nic.in and clicking on the link provided on the left side of the webpage. They will then need to log in by entering their registration number, password, and date of birth. Doing so will lead them to the page stating their result or the cut-off. The Board responsible for conducting the CTET has stated that the mark sheets of the qualifying candidates can be found stored in DigiLocker. The DigiLocker can be accessed by following the procedure mentioned above.   8. How to Check the CTET Result? 1. First, visit the official website www.ctet.nic.in. 2. Then, click on the button that says “CTET Result”. 3. You will be redirected to a new page where you will have to fill in your CTET Roll number 4. Then, click on “Submit” 5. Subsequently, you should be able to see your results. You may also get your CTET exam results by following an alternate list of steps: 1. First, visit the official CBSE website cbse.gov.in. 2. Then, click on the tab “Results”. 3. You will be redirected to the website cbseresults.nic.in. 4. Click on the link “Central Teacher Eligibility Test Results”. 5. You will be redirected to a new page where you will have to fill in your CTET Roll number. 6. Then, click on “Submit”. 7. You should be able to see your results.

  9. How To Apply? 1. Visit the official website ctet.nic.in. 2. Click “Apply Online” 3. Then you will need to enter your basic information such as your contact number. The website may generate a unique registration number and password. You will receive a copy of the same. You will receive it via SMS and/or Email. It is through this number and password that you can log in to your CTET profile to check your results or other developments. 4. Then, you should upload your documents which include • A current photograph • A copy of your signature • Educational Qualification certificate if needed. • Permanent Residence Certificate if required. • Any other verification certificates to claim the reservation quotas for categories such as that of the Ex-Servicemen or Extraordinary Sportsman quotas. 5. Carefully fill up the particulars. Then you will find redirections to the payment gateway whereby you will have to pay the registration fees. You can use your Credit card, Debit card, Internet Banking, or mobile wallet. 6. After completing your transaction, please do not hit the “Back” or “Refresh” button. Because if you do so, the process may charge you twice. 7. Lastly, you will receive a link to download your Confirmation page. Although you shouldn’t send this copy to the CTET office, this Confirmation page will serve as a way to record your application.

  10. Important FAQ Q1. What is the basic salary of a CTET qualified teacher? Ans. The basic salary of a CTET qualified teacher ranges from 9,300/- to 34,800/-. Apart from the basic salary, a CTET qualified teacher may also receive: • Travel Allowance • House Rent Allowance • Yearly Increments, etc. Q2. Can I appear for the online tests in Hindi? Ans. The mode of the CTET exam is bilingual. Thus, you can take the test in Hindi. Q3. Can I appear for both the CTET papers exam if I only have a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education? Ans. As a candidate with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education, you are eligible to appear for only Paper I in the CTET. Q4. My subject of specialization is Hindi. Can I still appear for the CTET? Ans. Provided you have the minimum educational qualification to appear for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test, the area of specialization is unimportant. Moreover, you have the option of studying either for Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Science if you are appearing for the second paper in CTET. Q5. I have lost my Application/Registration number. Can the Board help me out? Ans. Unfortunately, the Central Board of Secondary Education does not deem itself responsible in case of a lost Application/Registration number. The Board explicitly states that it will not entertain any grievances regarding a lost Application or Registration number. Q6. When is CBSE holding the next Central Teacher Eligibility Test? Ans. According to the official Notification released in July, authorities have stated that they will either hold the next CTET examination towards the end of December 2021 or at the beginning of January 2022
