My name is Afaq, and this year I planned a tour in Morocco from Marrakech with my three close friends. We wanted a trip that felt real, simple, and full of adventure — nothing too fancy, just pure experiences.
We started our journey early in the morning from Marrakech. The city was waking up slowly, with the smell of fresh bread and the sound of local shops opening. The red walls of the medina looked beautiful in the soft light. From there, we began our drive towards the desert, passing through small villages, long open roads, and the stunning views of the High Atlas Mountains.
When we reached the desert area near Marrakech, the excitement became real. The sand dunes were shining under the sun, and the wind felt warm and calm. One of our favourite parts of the trip was sandboarding in Marrakech. It was my first time trying it, and honestly, I was scared in the beginning. But once I stood on the board and slid down the dune, I felt like a kid again — laughing, shouting, and enjoying every second. My friends were recording everything and competing who could slide the farthest. It was simple, fun, and unforgettable.
After sandboarding, we continued our tour deeper into the desert. We rode camels, watched the sunset on top of a dune, and later enjoyed a quiet night under the stars. The sky in the desert feels different — big, peaceful, and full of bright stars that you don’t see in the city.
At night, we sat around the fire with local Berber guides. They shared stories, played drums, and made traditional Moroccan tea for us. We talked, laughed, and enjoyed the moment without thinking about time or phones.
Our tour in Morocco from Marrakech ended the next day when we returned to the city. But the memories — the views, the sandboarding, the desert silence — stayed with us. It was a simple trip, but it felt real and meaningful.
For anyone visiting Morocco, I would say: take the tour from Marrakech, try sandboarding, and feel the beauty of the desert yourself.
