  1. YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT DENTAL IMPLANTS DENTAL IMPLANTS One or more missing teeth can be permanently replaced with dental implants, providing people with missing teeth with improved tooth function that feels natural and looks natural. Dentures can be fixed in the mouth using regular dental implants or the unique All-on-4 system of dental implants for those who have lost the entire dental arch. DENTAL IMPLANT RESTORATION Restoring dental implants is a popular way to replace missing teeth and restore a person's smile. If you are missing one or more teeth, ask your dentist if this procedure is suitable for you. Your dentist can use implants in several different ways to help you regain full mouth function. 2. TYPES OF IMPLANT RESTORATION OPTIONS SINGLE IMPLANT RESTORATION When a single tooth is deteriorating or missing, the single implant restoration option is employed to replace it. The new tooth is made by screwing a titanium rod into the jawbone and then covering it with a crown. The screw serves as the crown's new root and supports it. Single implants are more aesthetically pleasing than dentures or bridges and, with proper care, can last a lifetime. IMPLANT-SUPPORTED DENTAL BRIDGE If you have two or more consecutive teeth missing, a dental bridge may be a better solution. Classic dental bridges are often created by holding an artificial tooth "bridge" called a pontic against existing teeth in the mouth. There are crowns on both sides of the gap and a denture in the middle. The bridge that the pontic forms is held in place by the crown. Traditional bridges have a long lifespan. However, this procedure requires the adjacent teeth to be modified to make room for the bridge. A bridge is attached to the modified tooth. IMPLANT DENTURES Traditional bridges have a long lifespan. However, the procedure necessitates modifying neighbouring teeth to make room for the bridge. The bridge is affixed to the teeth that have undergone modification. They may be complete or partial, depending on the extent of tooth loss or damage. There are two different types of bar-retained and ball-retained implant dentures. Abbey House Dental Page 2

  3. WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT IMPLANT TREATMENTS? SINGLE TOOTH IMPLANTS Instead of using a bridge or dentures to replace a single missing tooth, implants can be used instead (which involves grinding down adjacent teeth). Once your front teeth are gone, you can often have a temporary crown placed on the same day. MULTIPLE MISSING TEETH If multiple teeth are missing next to each other, a bridge can be placed between two implants, much like a bridge between two teeth. TEETH-IN-A-DAY Your "Same Day Smile" can be created in one day by inserting four or more dental implants into your jaw and then attaching a fixed bridge. With this, you can have completely fixed teeth in just one day. Same Day Smiles is an operation expertly performed by our top surgeons. ALL-ON-4 DENTAL IMPLANTS An upper arch of dentures or a lower arch of dentures can be supported in the mouth using four dental implants using a technique known as "all-on-4." In this approach, eight implants are used to support both arches. Using conventional dental implants, however, six or more implants are needed for each arch. Accordingly, the majority of patients will require a total of 12 or more conventional dental implants to support an upper and lower set of dentures. Abbey House Dental Page 3
