About Us Having surgery is a very important decision – you are about to let someone perform a procedure on your body often under a general anaesthetic. It is vital therefore to have absolute trust in your surgeon and their team. Your surgeon needs to be highly qualified and be extremely good at what they does. Unlike cosmetic doctors (many of whom are not surgeons) who perform procedures in their “clinic” with no back-up, our Plastic Surgeons perform their surgery at state of the art modern facilities at St John of `god Hospital in Geelong, Epworth Hospital Geelong and Barwon Health (Geelong Public Hospital). Thankfully things rarely go wrong, but if they did, it is important to know that everything can be taken care of. Our Plastic Surgeons use a team of fully qualified, trusted anaesthetists to ensure your surgical experience is safe and comfortable. https://www.bodyrecon.com
SKIN CANCER Evidence shows that two out of three Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer by the age of 70. We also know that early detection is one of the most important factors in achieving the best prognosis and this is best done with regular skin checks. Skin Cancer PLUS has taken over the premises of the long- standing Skin Cancer Only business in Roslyn Road and offers skin checks using the latest in digital surveillance technology. Our Skin Cancer PLUS GPs also offer skin cancer treatment options. Dr Rahdon attends the bi-weekly, multi-disciplinary meeting of Barwon South Western Regional Integrated Cancer Service (BSWRICS). This gives him the opportunity to discuss complex cases with a range of specialist surgeons and doctors and use their professional opinions to help formulate the best treatment plan to incorporate all aspects of care thus ensuring the highest possible level of service. https://www.bodyrecon.com
TREATMENTS BIOPSY A biopsy is an excision of a small sample of a lesion to determine diagnosis. This can be done by using local anesthesia and removing a small piece of the area with a razor blade, a scalpel, or a small, circular blade called a “punch.” The specimen will be sent for pathology for a definitive diagnosis. A biopsy will often be performed prior to surgical removal of a lesion in order to determine the diagnosis. This is routinely performed by the GPs at our Skin Cancer PLUS Clinic. https://www.bodyrecon.com
