  1. Why Does Your Dog Follow You Wherever You Go? Blog: One of the most adorable cratures on this Earth is without a doubt, dogs. That’s correct, these balls of fur light up our lives with joy and happiness. Just by being present they relieve our stress and anxiety levels like no other. However, there are certain things that our furry pals do that are simply bizarre and weird. One of them is, of course, following us wherever we go. With that being said, we are going to unravel many reasons as to why your canine buddy follows you wherever you go. Reasons Why You Dog Follows You Wherever You Go

  2. Dogs do what they do for a valid reason and if they’re following you, it’s definitely because of some reason. We’ve jotted down below as many as eight reasons why your dog follows you. Lets look at them in detail, one by one. #1. Seeking For A Companion Dogs are the most affectionate souls and even more so to their human counterparts. So if your buddy is following you everywhere you go, it is simply because they want to be your companion because they love being around humans, especially their own pet parent. Generally speaking, dogs don’t really like being alone and need to be around someone, so it is natural that they would follow you wherever to go. In a way, it is good because it shows that your buddy really loves you and wants to be with you wherever you are. #2. Boredom Kicks In Another good reason why your buddy must be following you is because boredom kicks in. When not asleep, dogs want to do something all the time. They are restless in nature and are desperate to do something to bide their time. And there’s nothing else to do, they have no other option than to follow you everywhere. Moreover, dogs rarely have any physical movement; they are either sleeping, eating their meal, or busy chewing up their favorite toy. So if they are following you out of boredom, its good because they are getting some physical activity. #3. Unfulfilled Needs Like us, dogs also have some needs and requirements that need to be fulfilled. And if you’re not doing so, they will follow you everywhere you go until you help him out. If your buddy keeps following you by wagging its tail, it surely means he’s excited for his meal and wants you to feed him. So until and unless you fulfill its need, he will follow you. Moreover, sometimes these needs can also be related to other things as well. For instance, if your buddy has eaten his meal and you’re inside your home, and he follows you here and there, this could mean he wants to go out to do his business. Another need could be that your buddy might be not feeling too well and wants you beside them, and he doesn’t want you moving too much. So based on these needs, you dog might be following you around. #4. Anxiety And Stress Levels Soar Up Anxiety and stress are common in animals as well including our beloved dogs. And they can show signs of anxiety especially when they are left all alone for many hours. So they tend to follow you around because that’s a sign of separation anxiety but that is not the only thing that canines can get anxious about. For instance, if there’s a

  3. strom going around, they will in all likelihood follow you around because they feel safe around you. The thing is, you know your doggie the best and only you can tell whether he’s feeling fearful or full of anxiety. Make sure you keep an eye on him and watch out for the signs regarding anxiety or stress in order to find out a quick solution. #5. Simply A Good Feeling Sometimes your dog does not need a good reason to follow you. They do so because they just feel good about it and wants to hang around with you. As you all must be knowing, dogs are great at sensing our emotions and when they feel comfortable and happy around you, they will follow you because they just want to keep that good feeling going around. You might wonder why your dog follows you all the time, but you should know that it’s a good sign. This means your dog adores you and feels good being around you and that should be more than enough to make you feel super happy. #6. Get Behind The Leader Dogs are naturally smart in nature and extremely clever. When they are around a bunch of people, they quickly grasp which human plays with them the most and which human would likely give them some tasty treats. So basically, they pick out their leader and will follow them in order to get what they want. So if you’re the one who gives them treats and plays with them the most, it is obvious, you are their leader and they will get behind you wherever you go so that they can get what their looking for. #7. Clinginess You might already know this but like humans, dogs too can get extremely clingy when they get comfortable around someone. So if your doggie is super comfortable around you, they will not want you to leave them even for a wee bit. When they get super comfortable with you over time, they have already figured out your daily routine as well as your emotional state of mind. So they know when you’re off to work and when you’re back. And when you do leave for work, they will in all likelihood follow you because they do not want you to go. #8. Seeking Attention As you all know, dogs simply loathe being left alone and they simply relish human company. In fact, these four-legged buddies love seeking attention and will go all out to get your attention. So when there’s no one around and if you’re his favorite, he will follow you around because he wants you to notice him and wants you to spend some time with him. And even when you’re caught up with some house work, they

  4. will literally try to barge in and try and stop you from doing your work because they want you to pay attention to them. How To Limit Your Dog From Following You All The Time? The particular behavior of dogs following you all around is highly common and more often that not helps them to socialise with you. Like us, they too require social interactions and companionship and when they follow us, it does feel good. Moreover, you can see this as a great opportunity for enhance and increase your bond with your buddy. But when they follow you all the time, it can get a bit annoying and hence, you need to take some measures in order to curb this from happening every time. Some times is okay, but every time? Nah, it can get on your nerves. Thus, if you want to break this habit of your dog following you around all the time, you will need to keep these points in mind. •Make Them Socially Active: If you and your family are the only people who is around your dog, then its obvious that they lack social skills. And they will follow you more often than not, because its only you whom they are comfortable with. Thus, to break this habit, try and make them mingle with other human beings such as your friends and neighbors. Making them socially active will definitely help break this habit of everytime following you wherever you go. •Proper Scheduling: Make a proper routine of your dog’s meal time and potty time and follow it diligently. It you do not, then you’ll have them following you for their meals until you feed them. Thus, if you follow a proper schedule and stick to it, you can eliminate this habit of them everytime following you to fulfill their needs. •Take Out Quality Time: If you’re always at work and only get you see your buddy at night and that too you spend just 10-15 minutes with him, that’s not enough (well, at least according to your buddy). So during your non-working days, he might follow you everywhere because he wants to spend some time. Thus, if you at least take out 30 to 45 minutes of your time each day, it will help your buddy from stop following you everytime during your non-working days. •Opt For Behavioral Products: In most cases, your doggie will follw you because of anxiety and stress and that is fairly understandable. But if you want your buddy to stay anxiety and stress-free all the time, then you can opt for some behavioral products such as Anxiety TFLN to curb anxiety. This will help a great deal in keeping your buddy stress-free and also keep them off from following you.

  5. And that’s a wrap! We hope this blog has helped you better understand your canine friend and also been useful to you. Take care of your buddy, and like always, stay safe and stay happy.
