  1. When Should You Start Using Anti-Aging Skincare As we age, our skin changes and develops signs of ageing. Even with the best preventive measures, ageing is a natural process which cannot be controlled or delayed. However, we can take steps to reduce the signs of ageing. Before you decide when you should

  2. use anti-aging products, it’s best to understand what causes aging and what are the early signs of aging. While many people start to notice early signs of ageing in their early 20’s, ageing cannot be delayed or prevented as it is a natural process. Intrinsic factors and extrinsic factors are the two main factors that cause ageing. Intrinsic factors are genetically determined processes that begin at birth and cannot be stopped or prevented. Intrinsic factors are affected by free radicals and over time, our cells, tissues and organs begin to deteriorate. This can lead to the formation of fine lines and wrinkles and lead to loss of skin elasticity and firmness.

  3. Extrinsic factors are external conditions such as the environment, exposure to the sun and pollution, diet and exercise etc. which can lead to loss of skin elasticity, skin roughness and wrinkles. A healthy lifestyle coupled with a skincare routine that’s tailored to your skin type can reduce the appearance of early signs of ageing. These tips can help minimize the effect of extrinsic factors and prevent early signs of ageing: Wear a mineral-based sunscreen every day, even when indoors. Choose a mineral-based sunscreen which offers broad-spectrum protection and has PA++ as well as SPF 30. Minimize your intake of foods high in unhealthy fats, salt and sugar as it can damage your skin. Choose whole grains, green leafy vegetables and fruits and keep yourself hydrated. Quitting smoking can also help reduce signs of ageing. Alcohol is known to dehydrate the skin which can lead to skin damage. It’s best to limit your alcohol intake. Exercising regularly has immense benefits for your skin. It improves blood circulation and keeps skin healthy. Use a mild cleanser to wash your face twice a day and use a moisturizer to keep your skin nourished and moisturized. Avoid exposing your skin to dust and pollution when possible as it can clog pores, dehydrate and irritate your skin. Where ever possible, use natural skincare products which are free from harmful chemicals and toxins such as Parabens, Sulphates, Artificial Fragrances, Silicones and more. These ingredients can be detrimental to your skin’s health in the long run. Although signs of ageing may vary from person to person, some of the tell tale signs include Fine lines and wrinkles Dark circles Visible pores Dark spots Skin dryness and roughness Uneven skin tone Skin dullness Loss of elasticity and firmness

  4. When should we start using anti aging skincare products? While most women start to notice the signs of ageing in their late 20’s, it’s best to start using anti ageing products for skin care when you are in your mid-20’s. This will ensure that your skin is replenished with the right ingredients and serve as a preventative measure. Typically, anti aging products use Retinol as a key ingredient because of the many benefits it presents. However, Retinol also has some drawbacks which doesn’t make it suitable for all skin types. Using Retinol can cause skin redness, flakiness and sensitivity. It is known to make skin sensitive to UV light and hence Retinol-based products are recommended to be used at night. Studies have also shown that Retinol is not safe to use during pregnancy. Bakuchiol – a natural alternative to Retinol works just like it but doesn’t cause any side effects to the skin or the body. Bakuchiol is a natural ingredient that’s derived from Babchi plant and gives the skin the same benefits as Retinol. Bakuchiol is gentle on the skin and unlike Retinol, it doesn’t make the skin red or flaky. It is suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin and can be used throughout the day since it isn’t sensitive to UV light. It also works to give the skin the same anti ageing benefits as Retinol.

  5. While Bakuchiol is a great ingredient to have in an anti aging cream, other ingredients that you should look for are Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid which help diminish the appearance of fine lines. While Hyaluronic Acid is naturally present in our body and skin, its levels start to deplete as we age and that’s why it’s important to replenish it. Hyaluronic Acid makes skin plump with its unique ability to hold up to 6 litres of water. And when the skin is hydrated, fine lines and wrinkles appear diminished. Niacinamide is suitable for skin types and has a host of benefits for the skin which include improving

  6. skin elasticity, reducing signs of ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles, reduces pigmentation and dark spots and smoothens rough skin. The Moms Co.’s Natural Age Control range has three products – an anti aging day cream, a night cream and an under eye cream that takes care of your skin from day to night. Enriched with Bakuchiol, Green Tea Extracts and Zinc Oxide, Natural Age Control Day Cream protects the skin from the harmful UVA rays and pollution. Apart from these ingredients, the day cream also has Sea Buckthorn Oil and Hyaluronic Acid. Together, they deeply hydrate the skin, stimulate collagen synthesis, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines and improve skin radiance. Start your night time skincare routine with the Natural Age Control Under Eye Cream. Enriched with Bakuchiol, Niacinamide and 5 plant extracts, this lightweight anti ageing eye cream gets absorbed quickly and works to improve the appearance of eye contour by reducing fine lines and dark circles, improving skin elasticity and deeply hydrating the skin under the eyes. Next, apply the Natural Age Control Night Cream. This anti aging night cream not only has Bakuchiol, it also has Niacinamide, Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid which boosts skin elasticity; deeply hydrates the skin and reduces pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. The night cream also diminishes the appearance of dark spots and blemishes and works on skin brightening.
