DEFINITION Effective means "producing a result that is wanted". Efficient means "capable of producing desired results without wasting materials, time, or energy".

Importance • Verbal channels explicitly communicate about 7%of the emotionalmeaning of a message. • About 38%is communicatedby paralanguage, which is basicallythe use of the voice. • About 55%comes through nonverbal, which includes such things as gesture, posture, facial expression, etc. paralanguage:for example intonation, pitch and speed of speaking, hesitation noises, gesture, and facial expression.
