  1. Some of the Conditions Havanese Puppies Might Suffer In general, Havanese are healthy, but they're prone to specific health conditions like all other dog breeds. Not all Havanese will have any or all of these conditions, but it's vital to be mindful of them when considering Havanese puppies. If you're buying a Havanese, health clearance is a must as it proves that a dog has been tested for and cleared of a particular condition. In Havanese, you must get health clearances from the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, and hypothyroidism. Also, get the health clearance from Auburn University for Thrombopathia and from the Canine Eye Registry Foundation (CERF), certifying that eyes are normal.

  2. Some of the diseases found in Havanese Puppies are- Hip Dysplasia: It's a degenerative disease found in HavanesePuppies in which the hip joint is weakened because of abnormal growth and development. Treatments for this condition include medication, weight loss if the dog is overweight, the intake of nutritional supplements, and sometimes surgery. Elbow Dysplasia: Again, it's a genetic disease that is similar to hip dysplasia that affects the elbow joints. It's supposed to be induced by irregular growth & development, making the joint malformed and weakened. This generative condition varies in severity as some dogs only develop a slight stiffness, and others become lame. The treatment to tackle this condition is surgery, weight management, and medication. Chondrodysplasia: Chondrodysplasia is a genetic disorder that's generally mislabeled as "dwarfism," as the affected canines have abnormally short limbs for the breed. The condition can vary in severity from nearly normal to crippling. In less severe cases, dogs can live normal lives, but dogs with this disorder should not be bought at home.

  3. Cataracts: It is an opacity on the lens of the eye, which causes loss of vision. As a result, the affected HavanesePuppies have cloudy vision. A cataract is an inherited condition and often occurs with old age but can happen at any age. Treatment for cataracts is only possible by surgical removal. Deafness: Deafness presents many difficulties for both the dog and the dog owner. A few deafness and hearing loss forms can be treated with medicines and surgery, but deafness often cannot be cured. Therefore, patience and time need to be given to a deaf dog. There are multiple products on the market to make life simpler for dogs. Conclusion The Havanese does well in various homes, from studios to large homes with yards. When buying one, keeping a check on its health condition is necessary so that he or she can lead a happy life.
