Ltd. is a diversified multi-activity, multi-technology, multi-location conglomerate with interests in In-dustrial Packaging, Greases & lubricants, Leather & functional chemicals, Turnkey projects, Tea exports, Travel & tourism and Cargo & logistics. It is also the largest manufacturer of mild steel barrels and drums in India with a market share of around 60%. It was incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 where it was originally known as Indian Flange & Manufacturing Com-pany Pvt. Ltd. and was engaged in the manufacture of Tri-sure closure systems.

Greif Bros. Corporation headquartered in Delaware, Ohio; USA acquired Van Leer Industrial, from Huhtamaki Van Leer. Greif Bros. Corporation is a global leader in industrial shipping con-tainers and products. Industry Statistics The Indian plastics industry made a promising beginning in 1957 with the production of polystyrene. Thereafter, significant progress has been made, and the industry has grown and diversified rapidly. The packaging sector is categorized into two major seg-ments (by type)—rigid and flexible packaging, with rigid packaging accounting for 64% market share. In terms of packaging materials, 55% of the sector is dominated by plastics, followed by paper & cardboard (20%) and glass (10%).
