  2. What makes you eligible for the post of an IFS officer? If you want to reach India's administrative juncture and would like to serve your country in terms of foreign affairs, you have to meet up the eligibility criteria. The Indian foreign service exam eligibility is as follows: The candidate has to be Indian by nationality. Besides, one can be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan to be eligible for the IFS exam. If a refugee of Tibet permanently settles in India before 1st January 1962, he or she can also apply for the post of an IFS officer. The candidate should possess a degree from a university recognized by the Indian government or have an equivalent qualification. c. There are some skills required to be an IFS officer. They are: ? The candidate should have the ability to make decisions ? The candidate should have good communication skills ? The candidate should be of a sound mind

He should possess the leadership qualities to take care of all affairs The candidate should have adequate knowledge about the foreign nations and recent developments of the country The minimum age to sit for the IFS exam is 21 years, while the maximum age is 30. However, candidates who belong to the SC/ST category, or OBC, or ex-servicemen, or physically challenged group are given a relaxation of 5 years. The maximum attempt to sit for a general category candidate for the exam is seven times, while for OBCs, it is nine times. There are no restrictions on SC/ST candidates.
