According to a study by the National Centre for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), Indians will account for about 30% (27.8%) of the world's overweight population by 2030. This equates to about 5% of the world's population! According to the WHO, a BMI of 25 or above is considered overweight, while a BMI of 30 or higher is considered obese. India is clearly dominating this gloomy race for global obesity leadership.
